FxPro South Africa - Your First Week After Deposit
75%+ of retail investor accounts lose money trading CFDs.
Days 1: 2 - money path
EFT/card hits Wallet first. If the platform shows R0 / $0, allocate from Wallet. Guide: ZAR deposits. Cashout path: withdrawal. Still opening? Open account.
Days 3: 5 - size and timing
Use the smallest lot your platform allows. Skip the first NFP/CPI week if you are new. Session map: trading sessions (SAST). Practice the same stack on demo before you scale.
Days 6: 7 - cost check
Export history: spread, commission, any obvious slippage. Standard vs Raw+: spreads · account types. FSCA entity: FSP 45052.
A simple journal for the first week
| Column | What to write |
|---|---|
| Time (SAST) | When you opened and closed |
| Instrument and lot | For example EURUSD 0.01 |
| Reason | One line: why you entered |
| Spread at entry | Read it on the ticket before you click |
| Result in rand | Profit or loss after commission and swap |
After five trades, compare the spread column with what you expected from your account type. If costs are higher than planned, the fix is usually fewer trades in quiet hours, not a bigger lot.
Test a small withdrawal early
Before you add more money, withdraw a small amount back to the EFT account or card you used. It shows how long the rand takes to land and whether your bank adds fees while the amounts are small. More: withdrawal guide, first withdrawal after a loss.
FAQ
Deposit shows but charts are empty?
Wallet is funded; trading account is not. Allocate inside Direct.
Should I start on Raw+?
Only if you already measured all-in cost. Many start Standard + demo.
